Anicira Receives $40,000 Grant from Petco Foundation
Anicira Veterinary Center of Harrisonburg, announced it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its life-saving mission in helping families care for their pets by making veterinary care affordable.
Anicira Veterinary Center is a non-profit organization that helps provide surgical services for animals in need of veterinary care whose family would otherwise be unable to afford them. Since 2005, Anicira Veterinary Center has provided over one million dollars in resources for the Valley’s dogs and cats, and its progressive programs serve over 20,000 pets each year.
The Petco Foundation investment will help to provide more life-saving procedures and more surgical services for the Valley’s pets. It will also help to increase efforts to reduce the intake and euthanasia rates at local shelters with Anicira Veterinary Center’s new foster to adoption program.
“From the beginning, we have sought to improve the well-being of animals in our community. Petco Foundation’s support of our efforts demonstrates that our proactive and progressive programs make good sense and are successful.” said Cate Mansfield, President and CEO.
