Anicira Receives Compassion Award
On Friday, April 1, 2016, the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies presented Anicira with its Compassion Award at the VFHS 2016 Annual Conference Awards Ceremony held at the Double Tree Hotel in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Compassion Award was named in memory of Pearl Twyne, who founded the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies in 1959. This annual award is presented to an Active Member organization that has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and whose accomplishments reflect the VFHS Strategic Plan's goal of reducing the euthanasia of healthy and treatable dogs and cats in the community.
The Virginia Federation of Humane Societies (VFHS) is a membership organization founded in 1959. Their membership includes pounds and other animal shelters, humane societies, rescue groups, sanctuaries, and animal control agencies, as well as animal caregivers and individual supporters across Virginia.
